Flexibility
Destination Dutch is a small private language school located close to The Hague Kunstmuseum, Duinoord and Statenkwartier. My teaching method aims at creating a relaxed learning environment that makes learning Dutch both fun and effective. I offer Dutch courses on various levels, in either small groups (8 people max) or private classes. This way I can fit the lessons to your needs.

Persoonlijke benadering
Destination Dutch is een taalschool (NT2) in Den Haag vlakbij Kunstmuseum, Duinoord en Statenkwartier. Hier kun je Nederlands leren in kleine groepen, op eigen tempo en verschillende niveaus. De lessen worden gegeven in kleine groepen van maximaal 8 personen of één op één. Hierdoor is er ruimte voor individuele aandacht en kan iedereen werken aan zijn of haar eigen leerdoelen.

Speaking from day one
During our lessons we will focus primarily on conversational, grammar and pronunciation skills. Additionally, listening and writing exercises are assigned as homework. Dutch culture will of course be a focal point of our conversations, helping you to adjust to live in the Netherlands.

Spreken centraal
Tijdens de les richt ik me voornamelijk op conversatie, uitspraak en begrip van het Nederlands, aangevuld met uitleg van de grammatica. Lezen, luisteren en schrijven worden vooral thuis geoefend als onderdeel van het huiswerk. Ik vind het belangrijk dat je je vrij voelt om Nederlands te spreken, fouten mag maken en bovenal plezier te hebben.

I make sure there is a safe and pleasant atmosphere that encourages asking questions, where learning is fun and making mistakes is a part of the process. I understand mastering a new language is a challenging experience, but I can make it easier than you expected. Because of the intimate setting there is room for everyone's individual capabilities and interests, with time for extra support when needed.

Intake en test
Wil je graag kennismaken? Meld je dan aan voor een gratis intake. Het is ook mogelijk om je taalniveau te bepalen door het doen van een onafhankelijke taaltest. Hierin worden spreek- luister- schrijf- en leesvaardigheid getest. Deze test kun je als onderdeel van de intake of bij het afsluiten van een cursus doen en kost 50 Euro.

Voorbereiding Medisch Assessment (AKV examen)
De voorbereiding voor het medisch assessment (AKV of de taaltest voor medici) bestaat uit 8 bijeenkomsten. Hierin oefenen we met samenvatten en presenteren van wetenschappelijke literatuur, casuïstiek en verslaglegging. De cursus is geschikt voor artsen, tandartsen, apothekers en psychotherapeuten.

  • This course is meant for students who gained the A2 level. You will focus on fluency, pronunciation and common, everyday Dutch language. During class we will discuss the homework exercises and talk about everyday topics. You will improve your Dutch, gain confidence to speak freely and have a large vocabulary and understanding of Dutch grammar.

    Students at B1 level can:
    • Enter into unprepared converations on topics that are familiar, of personal interest of pertinent to everyday life (e.g. family, travel, work, hobbies).
    • Recognise significant points in straightforward newspaper articles.
    • Understand the main point of many radio or TV programmes on current affairs when the delivery is relatively slow and clear.

  • De intermediate cursus is voor iedereen die al een beetje Nederlands spreekt. Tijdens de lessen voeren we gesprekken over teksten uit het lesboek aangevuld met onderwerpen die ons persoonlijk bezighouden. Iedere les houdt iedereen een korte presentatie over een artikel uit het nieuws. We oefenen met het luisteren van radioberichten en met het navertellen van verhalen. Tussendoor behandelen we grammatica.

  • Woon je al langer in Nederland en spreek je de taal al goed? Maar misschien zijn sommige aspecten van de grammatica nog lastig. Of blijft het moeilijk om spontaan te reageren of in een groep de conversatie te volgen.

    In deze cursus werk je aan je persoonlijke doelen en leer je op hoog niveau Nederlands luisteren, lezen, schrijven en spreken. Je werkt toe naar taalniveau B2 in een kleine groep van max. 6 personen.

    We werken met de lesmethode Nederlands op niveau aangevuld met extra lesmateriaal uit de actualiteit of voortkomend uit interesses van de deelnemers.

  • Destination Dutch was founded and is being run by Ineke Veldhuijzen. She studied Literary Studies at Leiden University.


    I have been teaching Dutch for 13 years to people from many different backgrounds and countries. In 2017 I started my own language school here in The Hague. I love languages and people, teaching gives me the opportunity to combine both. It is wonderful to see my students progress in their skills, which happens quickly with the small class sizes. I love my job because I get to meet a variety of interesting people and help them to achieve their goals. I try to connect with my students in a personal way, so when there is time we can talk about topics which keep us busy.

    Since May 2018 I am teaching at the French Embassy commissioned by The Alliance Française in The Hague

    In my own time I study Japanese which gives me the experience how difficult and amazing it is to learn a language from another language family. I love literature in general, but especially poetry. I love to share and talk with my friends about geopolitics, about rainy days, about living in nature, about how nice it would be to go out dancing every weekend. But most of all I enjoy sharing time with them.


  • Destination Dutch is een taalschool opgericht door Ineke Veldhuijzen in augustus 2017.

    Ik geef Nederlands als tweede taal sinds 2011 aan studenten, expats, huismoeders, diplomaten, kunstenaars en kinderen. Lesgeven is voor mij fascinerend omdat ik als docent de taal niet als een kant-en-klaar pakket kan overhandigen aan mijn studenten. Ik moet me voortdurend blijven afstemmen op het individuele leerproces van iedere student. Elke moedertaal brengt eigen problematiek met zich mee. Hoe kan ik mijn studenten blijven motiveren? Hoe krijg je zelfvertrouwen in het spreken? Hoe houd ik mijn lessen gevarieerd en tegelijk overeenkomstig met het niveau van de groep? Dergelijke vragen en het contact met mijn studenten houden mijn werk tot een prachtige onderneming.

    Sinds mei 2018 geef ik les op de Franse ambassade in opdracht van The Alliance Française in The Hague

    Zelf heb ik een achtergrond in Literatuurwetenschap en Asian Studies. In mijn vrije tijd lees ik graag poezie en filosofie, literatuur en de wekelijkse buurtkrant. Als ik dan nog tijd over heb schrijf ik zelf graag gedichten, leer ik Japanse karakters, ga ik naar de film of wandel door de duinen. Zwemmen in zee vind ik ook fijn om te doen. Ik zie mijn vrienden graag en probeer een open huis voor hen te hebben. Dit gevoel van welkom wil ik ook graag aan mijn studenten geven.
